About Yoon Im Kane

Yoon Im Kane is a psychotherapist, author, and educator who guides the conversations we are most reluctant to have: with our interior selves, with each other, and in the spaces we lead.

She trained at Yale, and her practice rests on twenty-five years of mindfulness meditation alongside clinical training in Internal Family Systems and Modern Group Psychoanalysis. Her doctoral studies examine how trauma shapes marginalized leaders and the systems they lead.

For over two decades, she has listened for what people carry but will not say—the exiled parts of us, held in silence: testifying in federal and state court for children who were trafficked and abused; sitting with executives whose teams perform brilliantly and trust nothing; with couples whose distance has become the most intimate voice in the room; and with people living inside identities they inherited, shaped by wounds handed down and longings never spoken.

She founded Mindful NYC, a group psychotherapy practice in New York, and created the Conversation Circle—a seasonal practice in community built on a single premise: the group cultivates what the self alone cannot.

Her work is the practice of mindful attention: a space held open, through which immediacy enters the conversation between self and other.
