Conversation Circle Groups

The self from the inside out.

We carry beliefs and vows, some conscious, most not, that protect us from the unbearable weight of change and uncertainty. In the tradition of mindfulness teacher Thich Nhat Hanh, we all carry seeds beneath the surface of the mind: seeds of suffering—fear, anger, and bias—and seeds of awakening: mercy, wisdom, compassion, and grace. What is watered with our attention grows to the surface of our daily lives.

The Conversation Circle is a community gathered to nourish the whole self from its deeper shared source. A mindfulness- and IFS-informed practice, it cultivates a conversation between the interior depth of self and the outer world of others—resourcing from within what waits to take form.

Conversation Circle: Introduction

  1. Returning to Source

The ground beneath the ground

The source holds both the original wound and the original wholeness. Before anything new can emerge, the conversations already occurring must be stopped — the repetitions, the numbness, the strategies that once protected but now suffocate aliveness. We learn to deepen attention and begin another conversation — one that is essential and aligned with the authentic self.

2. The Obstacle Is the Way

Welcoming what resists

The reluctance and resistance to connecting with self have to do with the fear of change — and the fear of the pain that change may cause, a pain that comes with a cost of belonging. Addressing and welcoming the obstacle as a doorway to deeper understanding — the care is the practice of this threshold.

3. Shedding Skin & Generative Self

From the old identity into the world

The identities that kept us safe will in time suffocate our growth. This threshold is the conversation around longing and desires that have yet to arise. And then — the generative self meets the world. Leading from a greater self that embodies fierce and embodied presence. Leading from a place of generosity and care. What happens next, as we go about the world? And in what ways will the world meet us?

The Ongoing Circle

The ongoing Conversation Circle is a smaller, closed group — no more than twelve — meeting twice monthly virtually on Sundays. The four thresholds unfold across each season as a deepening seasonal cycle. One interview before joining. Seasonal intensive seminars offered in person.

A seasonal cycle for those who have completed the Introduction series. Membership begins with a conversation

“Faith is fidelity to a path yet unknown."

“The circle follows a seasonal rhythm — four cycles per year. Winter: Returning to Source. Spring: The Obstacle. Summer: Shedding Skin. Autumn: Fruition. Each season stands alone. The deepest work happens for those who stay through the full seasonal cycle.”
